What opportunities are there to perform mission and outreach in our community?
We firmly believe that one of the clearest ways to determine a church's values is to see what their mission and outreach efforts are like. We have many such missional and spiritual ministries that we support, both locally and internationally. Our church community:
- Provides financial and material aid for the Cowlitz County Emergency Support Shelter, including providing Christmas meals, stockings, clothes, diapers, toys, and other presents every holiday season
- Provides space for Lost & Found, a local Narcotics Anonymous 12 step group, to meet
- Provides a bed at Community House, a local homeless shelter
- Provides material and financial aid for the Longview Caring Pregnancy Center
- Supports the neighboring Kessler Elementary School by donating much-needed school supplies and nonperishable food for their students through their Backpack Buddies program, and we volunteer our time through their C.H.A.M.P.S. program
- Supports the Phoenix House, a live in center for recovering addicted mothers and their children
- Supports missions both nationally and internationally through the Disciples Mission Fund
- Puts on events for the entire neighborhood, including an annual Easter Egg hunt for children and historical tours of our campus
- Hosts an annual Summer Silent Auction fundraiser to help fund our mission causes and partners.
